Building an International Community Through Music
NEW!

European Youth Music Schools is an exciting new development that will bring together schools, universities, conservatoires and music institutions that share our commitment to international friendship through high-quality music-making.
Our partner institutions will form a growing international network, helping young musicians discover new opportunities, share their talents and connect with others beyond their own school or community. As the network develops, EYM Schools will become hubs for competitions, performances, fundraising activities and other European Youth Music events.
Our Vision for EYM Schools
EYM Schools will help us build on our strong history by creating relationships with institutions in which young musicians first develop their skills, confidence and love of performing.
Through the network, we aim to:
Introduce more students to European Youth Music Week and our other projects.
Create new performance and competition opportunities.
Encourage musical collaboration beyond national and cultural boundaries.
Support emerging musicians as they progress from school to university, conservatoire or the music profession.
Enable EYM musicians, alumni and staff to share their experiences.
Raise funds for courses and projects.
Establish partner institutions as local and international hubs for EYM activity.
An EYM partnership is more than displaying a logo. It is an opportunity to become an active part of an international musical community and help shape the future of European Youth Music.
Schools That Support Us
We are enormously grateful to the schools and institutions that support European Youth Music. Their encouragement, facilities, expertise and commitment help us reach new musicians and continue developing our projects.

Oakham School
Oakham School holds an important place in the history of European Youth Music, first hosting the event in 2016. In 2018, it welcomed the musicians of our newly created Refugee Choir alongside our orchestra. We are delighted that Oakham School continues to be part of the EYM story as we develop this new international network and hope the course will return to the school in 2028.

Edgbaston High School for Girls
Edgbaston High School for Girls supports European Youth Music through its public benefit, providing staff, students and alumni who support EYM alongside recourse, instruments and spaces for meetings when planning our events.
Your institution does not need to have a large music department or extensive performance facilities. What matters most is a genuine interest in supporting young musicians and an enthusiasm for the values of European Youth Music.
Become an EYM School Partner
We welcome applications from institutions in the UK, Europe and around the world.
Eligible organisations include:
Primary and secondary schools.
Independent and state schools.
Sixth forms and colleges.
Universities and conservatoires.
Specialist music schools.
Music services and music hubs.
Youth orchestras and choirs.
Community music organisations.
Other institutions supporting the musical development of young people.
What Can an EYM School Partner Do?
Every partnership will be different. Depending on its interests, resources and location, your institution could:
Promote European Youth Music Week and other EYM opportunities.
Encourage eligible musicians to apply for our courses.
Nominate students for future EYM competitions.
Host an EYM concert, competition, workshop or masterclass.
Organise a fundraising event in support of EYM.
Connect EYM with musicians, teachers and institutions in your area.
Invite an EYM musician, alumnus or team member to speak to students.
Support the European Youth Music Refugee Choir.
Share EYM news through newsletters, social media and alumni networks.
Help us identify talented musicians who may not otherwise discover our projects.
Explore international collaboration with other EYM School Partners.
Partners are not expected to undertake every activity. We will work with each institution to develop a partnership that is realistic, worthwhile and appropriate for its community.
Suggested Partnership Contributions
Financial contributions from EYM School Partners will help us develop competitions and events, provide bursaries, support our projects and keep participation as accessible as possible.
Smaller or Developing Organisations
We do not want financial circumstances to prevent an enthusiastic institution from joining the network. Smaller organisations may contact us to discuss an affordable contribution or an alternative form of support.
Schools and Sixth Forms
This is intended for primary schools, secondary schools, sixth forms and smaller educational organisations.
Universities, Conservatoires and Music Institutions
This is intended for universities, conservatoires, specialist music institutions, music services and larger organisations.
Lead School Partner
Lead Partners will make a significant contribution to the development of EYM Schools. They may also work with us to host major events, develop competitions, provide venues or support bursaries for young musicians.
