All participants play in the Symphony Orchestra, one of two Chamber Orchestras, and take part in focused rehearsals for strings, winds, brass, and percussion - all within a dynamic, full schedule.

VENUE: The Kloster Frenswegen in Germany will host EYMW 2027
ACCOMMODATION: You'll stay at the venue's own accommodation
CHECK-IN AND OUT: Check-in starts from *** on *** and our first rehearsal begins at *** the same ***. The course officially concludes after breakfast at 9:00 on *** but you are welcome to leave anytime after the final concert if you wish, adjusting your travel arrangements to suit your needs.
Travel to the course
By Air: You can fly into any nearby airport and use public transportation to get to the venue from there. We recommend Münster Osnabrück International Airport (FMO)
By Public Transport: Nordhorn has a train station (Nordhorn Bahnhof) with connections to Bad Bentheim and Neuenhaus Süd & Neuenhaus. Tickets are available through ***. You can then take the bus (line 31 towards Kloster Frenswegen) to Kloster Frenswegen.
By Road: Coming from the A30 (Nordhorn exit) or A31 (Lingen/Nordhorn exit), take the B403 (A30) or B213 (A31) towards Neuenhaus/Coevorden. Approximately 1 km after leaving Nordhorn, turn left towards Frenswegen Monastery.

Here’s a sneak peek at what a typical day might look like:

SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
You’ll dive into large-scale rehearsals where the entire group comes together to create powerful orchestral sounds. Feel the rush of being part of something big and exhilarating as you contribute to the symphony orchestra’s epic sound.

CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
Here, you’ll switch gears, honing your skills in a more intimate setting. This is your chance to focus on detail and precision, developing your ensemble playing in a smaller group.

SECTIONAL REHEARSALS
Whether you’re in strings, wind, brass, or percussion, there will be dedicated rehearsals and repertoire just for you and your section of the orchestra. These sessions allow you to concentrate on refining techniques within your instrumental family.

CHAMBER MUSIC
You’ll have the chance to play in smaller chamber ensembles, where every note counts, and collaboration is key. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore a wide range of repertoire and showcase your individual talent in a team setting where you are encouraged to make music alongside a diverse range of nationalities within your ensemble.

CHOIR
If you love to sing, you can join our optional choir sessions too, another fun way to diversify your musical experience.

At EYMW, making friends from around the world is just as important as the music. Here’s what you can look forward to:
Nightly Bar: Unwind and connect with fellow musicians at our onsite bar, serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. It’s the perfect spot to relax, chat, and build lasting friendships.
Day Trip: Experience the culture and excitement of Germany with a day trip to a nearby city. Explore new places and make memories with your new friends.
Karaoke Night: Let loose and have fun with our lively karaoke night. This event is all about laughter, bonding, singing and celebrating with our diverse group. This is always a highlight of the week.

Concerts: Show Off Your Skills and Make Unforgettable Memories!
Get ready to shine in our concerts, where you’ll showcase your hard work and talent, creating unforgettable musical moments with friends from all over the world.
You’ll have the chance to perform in two amazing concerts:
Chamber Music Concert: On Friday, all the chamber groups formed during the course will take the stage. You might play standard repertoire, participant compositions, or even some exciting improvisations. It's your time to show off your skills in a more intimate setting.
Abschluss Concert: On Saturday, join the larger ensembles for a grand finale. This free evening concert will feature a variety of pieces we have prepared throughout the week. It’s the perfect way to celebrate our musical journey together.

Three meals are provided daily, along with regular tea and coffee breaks. Local shops are available if you want snacks. Bringing a water bottle is a great idea too.
Pack a towel, toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush, etc.), and personal grooming items (like a hairdryer). Bedding is provided, and all rooms have mirrors.
Casual attire is fine for most days, but you’ll need smarter clothes for concerts and many participants choose to wear black and often their course t-shirt, if they purchased one. Also, bring something suitable in case of rain!
Bring some spending money for snacks, the evening bar, our trip out and any of your travel expenses. The bar does accept card but there is a small fee.
There is Wi-Fi at the venue, but it may not be available in all rooms.

Payment Terms
Making a Payment
All payments are to be made in € Euros to the Internationaler Arbeitskreis für Music e. V. (IAM) – the organisation arranging the course. The account details for payments will be sent in acceptance emails after an application is successful.
Initial Payments and Administrative Charges
An initial payment of €150 is to be made by participants as soon as possible after receiving an offer to secure the seat being offered. We may continue to accept applications for the seats offered until we have received this payment and withdraw any offer if other participants make payments sooner. This initial payment includes a €40 administrative charge.
Payment deadlines
All course fees are to be paid by 31 May before the course starts unless an arrangement has been agreed with the course administrator. If you make an application for any remaining spaces after this date, the course administrator will make a payment timetable that is fair to your situation.
Currency conversion
If € not your nation's currency, you will need to convert to € when making a payment. Some banks will give the option to pay in € but if this is not available to you, please convert €150 into your currency on the day of the payment. Some banks may charge for conversion or international payments.
Cancellations and refunds
The initial payment of €150 is non-refundable unless the course is cancelled (see below). Balance payments (payments you make in addition to the initial payment, up to the full fee amount) are refundable if you cancel your attendance as follows:
-- 100% of these payments will be refunded if cancelling before 1 July
-- 50% if cancelling between 1–13 July before he course starts
-- there will be no refund if cancelling after 13 July before the course starts.
In the event the course is cancelled, participants will be entitled to a refund of all payments minus the €40 administration fee included in the initial payment.
Refunds will be made by IAM and governed by their payment terms. Any fees incurred by IAM on behalf of EYMW by banks that charge for international payments will taken from the refunded amount.
